Policy on Fees

Consultation Fees

All consultation fees are payable at the time of the appointment. Fees are payable by cash, EFTPOS, Mastercard or Visa for Privately insured and Uninsured Medicare patients.

Cancellation of appointments on the day of the appointment or Non-attendance of appointments will incur a cancellation fee.

Surgical Procedure Fees for Private Patients

Fees for surgery are based on the MBS and AMA list of surgical fees and in most cases are at or below the aggregate AMA fee. This will mean that for some patients there will be an out of pocket expense or ‘GAP’. This amount will vary depending on your procedure and its complexity.

The surgical fees not only cover the operation itself but also include aftercare including post-operative visits from Drs McMaster and Kam and his team, including a dedicated practice nurse. The fee is also inclusive of the first post-operative visit. Subsequent follow-up consultations incur a follow-up consultation fee.

Prior to surgery, patients will be provided with a quote.

The “GAP” fee is to be paid 3 working days prior to the surgery (except in emergencies or by prior arrangement). If the fee is not paid then the surgery will not proceed.

Fees are payable by Mastercard or Visa by calling our office.

Direct debit may be used and the account information will be provided upon request. Please allow adequate time for the funds to be transferred and quote your surname as your reference when paying by direct debit.

Surgical Procedure Fees for Worker’s Compensation and Third Party Patients

For Worker’s Compensation and Third Party Insured patients, approval for surgery from your Insurer will be requested on your behalf prior to surgery and will need to be pre-approved by the Insurer before a date for surgery can be scheduled.

Worker’s Compensation and Third Party Patients will not have to organise any pre-payment or approvals.

Surgical Procedure Fees for Uninsured Medicare or International Patients

Prior to surgery, patients will be provided with a quote for:

Hospital Charges
Drs McMaster and Kam’s surgical fees
Surgical Assistant’s fees
Costings of Implants and Consumables
Radiology
Physical Therapy/Physiotherapy

Full payment MUST be completed prior to Admission. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to the rule
